- Australia and Malaysia continue to benefit from close bilateral ties across a broad range of sectors that includes agriculture, manufacturing, investment, food & beverage, education, defence, science and technology and tourism. Private sector ties have been proactively supported by the activities of the Australia Malaysia Business Council (AMBC) at both the national level and by its state chapters in Australia.
AMBC is a dynamic, business focused member based organisation that was established to foster, support and promote business and investment opportunities between Australia and Malaysia. The growth and success of trade between Australia and Malaysia has been significant with an increasing number of opportunities to invest and do business in Malaysia continuing to grow each year.
AMBC Australia acts as the collective voice of the Australian membership and provides a very effective platform for members to identify business opportunities in Malaysia, develop useful long-term contacts and interfaces with the Malaysian Government and its trade facilitation departments and organisations.
AMBC Australia also organises a number of business and related social functions to cater to the wider interests of the Council’s membership and includes:
business luncheons and networking events with high profile speakers,
trade missions,
topical seminars,
industry briefings, and
Social / cultural events
AMBC Australia also conducts combined events with other locally based business councils, chambers and associations in order to increase the opportunity for its members to network with a broader audience of business and investment experts and professionals.
The AMBC recently joined with the MABC and Roxby Media to produce the Australia Malaysia: Forging Ahead initiative, aimed at promoting the bilateral relationship ahead of the free trade agreement.
